I experiment with different paints and unusual additives to create different kinds of behavior

The principles of my technique are easy on first sight.

I work with three layers of different concistencies. the bottom layer is the thickest and more a sliding carrier for the next layer. The colors.

I apply that layer with different tools like palette knives or simply my hands or fingers.

Having a concept in my mind I add my third and thinnest layer by swiping, pulling, pushing, blowing or sprinkling, picking up paint with my palette knife and either stretching it out in place or transferring it to a different part of the painting. The magic sauce I use last creates the lacing and cells by moving faster than the other layers. For that to happen I tilt the canvas until I’m satisfied with the composition. That’s when the spinner comes in.

With the spinner I am able to stretch the composition without risking wonky cells or an irregular pattern.
